Alex Ammar and Pamela Clancy Ammar

May 6, 2022 鈥 Pamela Clancy Ammar and Alex Ammar were named recipients of the 2022 Fairmount Founders鈥 Award at the annual Fairmount Society dinner held on May 5 at Mark Arts. The WSU Foundation gives the award out annually to recognize those who provide outstanding service and generosity to 成人直播 State University.

Credit Union of America pledges $250,000 gift, recognized as Champion for WSU College of Applied Studies

May 2, 2022 鈥 Credit Union of America was recognized today as a 2022 Champion for 成人直播 State鈥檚 College of Applied Studies, honoring its ongoing engagement and financial support of the future educators of Kansas. CUA has pledged an additional $250,000 to the college to continue funding the Corbin Connect program, ongoing technology needs, scholarships, and programming for CAS students.

April 15, 2022 鈥 Deborah J. (Davis) Bardo, former first lady of 成人直播 State University, died April 15, 2022. Mrs. Bardo was married to WSU鈥檚 13th president, Dr. John Bardo, for 44 years until his death on March 12, 2019. She is survived by their son, Christopher.

April 11, 2022 鈥 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 成人直播 State University has surpassed seven figures in annual scholarships for its students, with funds being distributed throughout the 2021-2022 season.

April 7, 2022 鈥 Two 成人直播-area teachers who graduated from 成人直播 State University鈥檚 School of Education were recently recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom by the White House with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

2022 Wallace Scholars

March 25, 2022 鈥斅牫扇酥辈 State University鈥檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program. Ten Wallace Scholarship recipients will receive $28,500 each to attend 成人直播 State for four years. In addition, two students receiving other major university scholarships will be designated as Wallace Scholars.

March 23, 2022 鈥 The 成人直播 State University Foundation has secured a $540,000 lead gift from Meritrust Credit Union to expand the W. Frank Barton School of Business鈥 career efforts with the formation of the Office of Career and Professional Development.

March 23, 2022 鈥 The School of Nursing at 成人直播 State University has received a $35,000 endowed scholarship gift from retired faculty member Shirley Hazen through the Shirley E. Hazen RN-BSN Endowed Nursing Scholarship.

March 22, 2022 鈥 The fifth class of Rudd Scholars includes 16 Kansas high school seniors who will attend 成人直播 State University.

March 7, 2022 - 成人直播 State alums Matt and Stephanie Clark taught English to students from fifth grade to high school in Ukraine from 2006-08 as Peace Corps members. Their friends and their warm memories are in turmoil as the Russian invasion wears on in their adopted country. They rely on social media to hear from former students, host families and friends, as they try to sort good information from bad and bring attention to the crisis.

March 4, 2022 - Nelsen Petersen, a 成人直播 State alum, is a high school teacher, author, filmmaker and running enthusiast who developed strong connections with Ukraine during his travels. Later this month, he plans to go to Cluj-Napoca, a Romanian city near Ukraine to help in refugee camps. He wants to spend four or five days during his spring break in the region.

Jill Cobb, who graduated in 1977 with a general studies degree, became a forensic pathologist. Cobb has pulled some dark truths from some dark places around the world, including Bosnia in the aftermath of the former Yugoslavia鈥檚 civil war. She monitored and assisted in the exhumation and identification of war casualties as a member of Physicians for Human Rights.

Feb. 24, 2022 鈥斅燭he W. Frank Barton School of Business at 成人直播 State University has chosen two recipients to receive the 2022 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year鈥檚 winners are Cohen Ayres from Garden Plains and Grace Simon of 成人直播. They will each receive $32,700 over four years to attend WSU and major in entrepreneurship.

J. Robert Young

Feb. 23, 2022 鈥 成人直播 State alumnus J. Robert Young has pledged a gift of $3 million to provide resources that will help students build successful careers. Of that total, $2 million will endow the J. Robert Young Executive-in-Residence Program in the W. Frank Barton School of Business. The remaining $1 million will support the Shocker Success Center project, which will consolidate 17 student services in Clinton Hall.
