A selection of area business leaders will be invited to attend monthly council meetings to advise and support 成人直播 State leadership on a number of critical areas.

Aug. 27, 2020 - 成人直播 State University graduate Sarahi Aguilera considered herself shy for most of her life. Her status as an undocumented immigrant limited what she thought herself capable of saying or doing. That perception changed in 2017 when she traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of delegation of college students who talked to politicians about their stories and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Aguilera started volunteering with Sunflower Community Action in 2018 while a student at Seward County Community College. Later that year, she transferred to 成人直播 State and took a job as an immigrant justice organizer at Sunflower Community Action. In May, she graduated with a major in criminal justice and a psychology minor. She wants to attend law school and work in immigration law.

Aug. 26, 2020 鈥� 成人直播 State University has been named a founding member of a newly formed AI Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning (IFML), established by a $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation.

Aug. 11, 2020 鈥� The city of 成人直播鈥檚 transit department will be assuming operations of the Shocker bus service beginning Aug. 17. There will be a total of four 成人直播 State University routes, beginning Aug. 17.

Aug. 10, 2020 鈥� From high-tech aerospace engineering to movie theater popcorn, Shocker Studios鈥� animation students are building diverse portfolios of work. Through 成人直播 State University鈥檚 partnerships, animators-in-training have been able to gain practical experience with industry leaders, such as Spirit AeroSystems.

Aug. 10, 2020 鈥� Dr. Cory Gibson, superintendent of the Valley Center School District and graduate of 成人直播 State University, has been named the Kansas Superintendent of the Year for 2019-20.

August 7, 2020 鈥� Applied computing student Noah Sentry and biomedical engineering student Leah Fisher are part of a student team in ENGR 302. From a list provided by Samantha, Noah and Leah chose to use their skills to help Sutton, a 6-year-old with cerebral palsy. 5/05/20

Aug. 5, 2020 -- In an effort to help diversify and grow the economy 鈥� while providing an important platform for creating new academic and applied programs for students 鈥� 成人直播 State University is moving forward on a facility to house the National Institute for Digital Transformation (NIDT) as part of its Convergence Sciences initiative.

Aug. 5, 2020 - 成人直播 State Athletics will introduce mobile ticketing for the 2020-21 season for the sports of volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball. The move to mobile ticketing will provide greater convenience and a safer environment for fans. It will offer a contactless entry into athletic venues and the ability to transfer tickets electronically, eliminating physical touching concerns prevalent during this time. Mobile ticketing will also provide an added layer of security, guarding against the production of fraudulent and counterfeit tickets.

July 29, 2020 -- With health and safety prioritized, 成人直播 State University鈥檚 food, retail and common spaces will adjust hours, layout and cleaning schedules as students return for the fall semester.

July 27, 2020 - 成人直播 State University student Kristen Bruce works as a software tester for Flint Hills Group, founded by Shocker alum Dave Cunningham. Over the past year, Bruce played an important role in Flint Hills Group鈥檚 work with McAlister, a fuel distributor and wholesaler in Wellington. McAlister needed to replace its software used to monitor fuel flow for billing. Bruce helped Flint Hills Group beat coming issues and move to a new system, while some of McAlister鈥檚 competition encountered problems.

July 23, 2020 鈥� The Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, which receives funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, recently awarded 成人直播 State $250,000 to assist in creating a workforce development database focused on compiling a map of educational programs and resources that provide skills required for today鈥檚 advanced robotics and manufacturing careers.

July 14, 2020 - Greg Hand, professor of epidemiology, medicine and physical activity and sports sciences at West Virginia University, has been named dean of the College of Health Professions at 成人直播 State University, effective Aug. 9, 2020.聽He served as the founding dean of West Virginia University鈥檚 School of Public Health, and previous to that role, he was the associate dean for Research, Practice and Information Technology at the University of South Carolina鈥檚 School of Public Health.

July 13, 2020 - Three 成人直播 State University alumni wrote, produced and organized "God Save the Wings," a documentary about the glory days of the 成人直播 Wings professional indoor soccer club from its founding in 1979 into the early 1980s. 鈥淕od Save the Wings鈥� debuted on February 22 at the Orpheum Theatre and it went so well that organizers planned to show it again on April 10. Then the COVID-19 pandemic changed their schedule and their hopes of entering it in film festivals around the world are largely on hold until the fall.
