Wiilkin's Stadium rendering

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 成人直播 State University and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Students working on handrails for Koch Arena

Sept. 5, 2023 - 成人直播 State University students designed handrails for Charles Koch Arena and producing around 400 for installation. The applied learning project will make walking up the arena stairs safer for fans and is a response to surveys and listening sessions.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six WSU colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

Accessible Design projects

July 11, 2023 鈥 The Accessible Design course concerned 成人直播 State University junior Reagan Kelley at first. She wasn鈥檛 an engineering major and wasn鈥檛 sure what she could contribute. The payoff at the end of the project made it worthwhile. Kelley, an exercise science major, and three other students modified an all-terrain wheelchair for a nine-year-old boy who outgrew the chair鈥檚 previous dimensions.

May 17, 2023 - 成人直播 State shortstop Sydney McKinney's leadership isn鈥檛 limited to the field. Teammates love her enthusiasm and positive outlook, as well as her devotion to coffee, pets and painting.

May 17, 2023 - The existence of life on other planets, especially Mars, is a question pondered in literature, movies and imaginations. 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Dr. Mark Schneegurt is working on that issue with the assistance of a $377,000 grant from NASA to examine the toughness of microbes isolated from spacecraft assembly facilities.

May 11, 2023 - Lucy Schneider, a sport management major, jumped into applied learning opportunities with 成人直播 State鈥檚 athletic department and will use those experiences as she pursues her master鈥檚 degree.

Orel Ovil

May 4, 2023 - Orel Ovil came to 成人直播 State University from Israel to play tennis and study in the W. Frank Barton School of Business in 2018. He is one of 10 students to earn Senior Honor recognition, the highest honor awarded to WSU students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, involvement and service to WSU and the surrounding community.

May 3, 2023 鈥 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Gateway to IP applied learning program gives students the opportunity to learn about a career as a patent agent. Rob Gerlach from the Office of Tech Transfer created the program 鈥渨ith the purpose being to increase 成人直播鈥檚 IP IQ.鈥

April 27, 2023 鈥 A student-led research team is attempting to replicate owl feathers in its quest to create silent drone propellers. Now NASA has invested in the project with a potential award of up to $82,000.

Zoe Jones

April 26, 2023 鈥 Zoe Jones transferred to 成人直播 State University from Texas Tech University and is enjoying her softball experience with the nationally ranked Shockers. In 2022, she earned all-region and all-conference honors at second base and a spot on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic team. This season, she is one of the leading hitters on a team headed to NCAA regional play.

April 21, 2023 鈥 Three 成人直播 State researchers have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award. The award is given each year as a way to recognize novel ideas that have the potential to meet a market need and attract further funding once they have advanced through the early prototyping phase.
