KBOR approves new programs.

Dec. 17, 2020 鈥 With the intention of furthering 成人直播 State University鈥檚 commitment to digital transformation, the Kansas Board of Regents has approved four degree programs that will launch in spring 2021: Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics, Master of Science in Data Science, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Mathematical Foundations of Data Analysis. These degrees are in addition to existing undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates in applied computing, computer science, cybersecurity, homeland security, and supply chain.

Dec. 17, 2020 鈥 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Community Engagement Institute鈥檚 coalition is working to better the lives of children by encouraging workplaces to establish family-friendly practices. WSU-CEI works closely with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to establish multisector partnerships and resources for the execution of the Child Maltreatment Prevention Plan across Kansas. WSU-CEI also organizes a statewide coalition for this effort called Kansas Power of the Positive.

Dec. 10, 2020 - Hannah Wilkinson, 成人直播 State's associate head strength and conditioning coach, is taking donations for Catholic Charities Harbor House domestic violence shelter and service. The campaign is an extension of the toy drive that strength and conditioning coach Kerry Rosenboom organized in previous years.

Dec. 7, 2020 鈥 Ten 成人直播 State University political science students were recently accepted into the Washington, D.C. and Topeka Internship Program. The program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to earn nine course credits while interning in D.C. or Topeka.

Shocker Commitment

Dec. 1, 2020 鈥 成人直播 State University has created a scholarship and support network to help those nearest to its campus. The Shocker Neighborhood Commitment provides funding to make college more affordable and attainable for recent high school graduates living in the Shocker Neighborhood.

Dec. 1, 2020 鈥 Two new battery-powered buses wrapped in Shocker pride will soon be seen zipping through 成人直播鈥檚 streets. 成人直播 Transit recently unveiled the 成人直播 State University-branded buses, which are ecofriendly, filled with modern conveniences, and will circulate among the university鈥檚 main campus, as well as 成人直播 State South, WSU Tech and the Metroplex.

December 1, 2020 - 成人直播 State鈥檚 Division of Diversity and Inclusion is organizing 鈥淭enacious Men,鈥 a program designed to provide mentoring and STEM education for underrepresent students in 成人直播 Public Schools.

Nov. 17, 2020 鈥 Kylie Cameron chose to attend 成人直播 State after learning about the abundance of opportunities offered. While pursuing degrees in journalism and political science, Kylie was involved in The Sunflower student newspaper and the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. Kylie is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation. Learn more about her time at 成人直播 State, and read some advice she has for current students.

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 Nicole Ukoefreso, a native 成人直播n, knew she wanted to attend 成人直播 State for most of her life because she admired 成人直播 State students for their involvement in the community. Nicole is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation.

November 9, 2020 - KPTS recognized 成人直播 State University Military & Veteran Services with its Distinguished Veterans Coming Home Business Award in a special program that aired on Nov. 5 on Channel 8. WSU鈥檚 Military & Veteran Services provides assistance with Veteran Affairs educational benefits, provides counseling, testing and other service. It connects military students with opportunities for campus involvement. Larry Burks Sr., is the director of Military & Veteran Services.

Nov. 5, 2020 -- BAASE started in 2018, and the partnership between 成人直播 Public Schools and 成人直播 State began in fall 2019 with the goal of creating a stronger system of support for African American and Hispanic students who want to pursue post-secondary education.

Nov. 5, 2020 鈥 A team of researchers at 成人直播 State University is working to promote health equity among vulnerable populations. The all-woman, cross-disciplinary team is focusing its initial efforts on issues related to obesity among underrepresented groups.

Nov. 3, 2020 鈥 Jessica Gulaskey is one of thousands of first-generation students at 成人直播 State. The 成人直播 native will be taking over the university鈥檚 Instagram account on Thursday, Nov. 5, to share her experiences as a first-gen student.

Oct. 30. 2020 鈥 A team of interdisciplinary researchers at 成人直播 State University is using artificial intelligence and big data to digitally transform the way communities predict and respond to natural disasters.

Inneke Vargas

Inneke Vargas, from Houston, appreciates the interdisciplinary approach of her liberal arts degree from 成人直播 State University. After graduate school, she wants to work on policy changes to help eliminate health disparities. 鈥淢y research broadly focuses on the effects of mental health stigma, particularly among African Americans, across the lifespan,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淢ore narrowly, I am currently interested in the ways mental health care inequities disproportionately affect minority men during adolescence and very late adulthood.鈥
