Shock the World

Dec. 9, 2020 鈥 The WSU Foundation's seven-year Shock the World campaign raised more than $300 million to fund scholarships and campus improvements at 成人直播 State University.

Dec. 7, 2020 鈥 Ten 成人直播 State University political science students were recently accepted into the Washington, D.C. and Topeka Internship Program. The program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to earn nine course credits while interning in D.C. or Topeka.

November 23, 2020 - In February, Evergy invested in three initiatives that added valuable assets to the engineering program. One of those initiatives was the installation of solar panels on the roof of the John Bardo Center.

Nov. 17, 2020 鈥 Kylie Cameron chose to attend 成人直播 State after learning about the abundance of opportunities offered. While pursuing degrees in journalism and political science, Kylie was involved in The Sunflower student newspaper and the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. NASA Suits

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 A diverse team of 成人直播 State students spent four weeks finalizing a proposal for the NASA SUITS design challenge, a competition created to get college students to participate in NASA's Artemis mission.

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 Nicole Ukoefreso, a native 成人直播n, knew she wanted to attend 成人直播 State for most of her life because she admired 成人直播 State students for their involvement in the community. Nicole is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation.

Ya-Aida Sillah, a health management major from 成人直播, took a lead role in 鈥淢ask Up!,鈥 a Department of Public Health Sciences group project designed to help students understand COVID-19 and health protection. Answers revealed four areas commonly misunderstood. 鈥 Some students did not know that fleece and gaiter-style masks are not recommended for preventing the spread of COVID-19. 鈥 Some students assumed a person鈥檚 vulnerability to COVID-19 would be visible. In many cases, a person鈥檚 vulnerability to the virus may be hidden. 鈥 Some students were unaware that nausea and vomiting are potential symptoms. 鈥 Some students did not know that monitoring for fever and other symptoms daily is recommended.

Hacking for Defense class works on project to solve national security problems.

November 12, 2020 - Hacking for Defense is a social and behavioral science elective course made for undergraduates and graduates of all majors.

Adelante Scholarship

Nov. 10, 2020 鈥 Incoming freshmen and transfer students have an opportunity to receive up to $20,000 as part of 成人直播 State University鈥檚 new Shocker Adelante Scholarship.

Nov. 5, 2020 鈥 A team of researchers at 成人直播 State University is working to promote health equity among vulnerable populations. The all-woman, cross-disciplinary team is focusing its initial efforts on issues related to obesity among underrepresented groups.

Nov. 3, 2020 鈥 Jessica Gulaskey is one of thousands of first-generation students at 成人直播 State. The 成人直播 native will be taking over the university鈥檚 Instagram account on Thursday, Nov. 5, to share her experiences as a first-gen student.

Oct. 30. 2020 鈥 A team of interdisciplinary researchers at 成人直播 State University is using artificial intelligence and big data to digitally transform the way communities predict and respond to natural disasters.

WuShock Doc

Oct. 28, 2020 - Tyler Pennick, director of videography for 成人直播 State鈥檚 Office of Strategic Communications, created a documentary about WuShock in bronze. After two years of development, the documentary was accepted into the Tallgrass Film Festival and awarded for its success.

Inneke Vargas

Inneke Vargas, from Houston, appreciates the interdisciplinary approach of her liberal arts degree from 成人直播 State University. After graduate school, she wants to work on policy changes to help eliminate health disparities. 鈥淢y research broadly focuses on the effects of mental health stigma, particularly among African Americans, across the lifespan,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淢ore narrowly, I am currently interested in the ways mental health care inequities disproportionately affect minority men during adolescence and very late adulthood.鈥
