Kylie Cameron Fall 2020 Grad

Nov. 17, 2020 鈥 Kylie Cameron chose to attend 成人直播 State after learning about the abundance of opportunities offered. While pursuing degrees in journalism and political science, Kylie was involved in The Sunflower student newspaper and the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. Jenna Maxwell Fall 2020 Grad

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 Since kindergarten, Jenna Maxwell knew she wanted to be an elementary school teacher and decided to attend 成人直播 State for its teaching program. Jenna is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation.

LaShaya Lawrie Fall 2020 grad

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 LaShaya Lawrie chose 成人直播 State because it鈥檚 close to home. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering, LaShaya became involved on campus. LaShaya is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation.

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥 Nicole Ukoefreso, a native 成人直播n, knew she wanted to attend 成人直播 State for most of her life because she admired 成人直播 State students for their involvement in the community. Nicole is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation.

Ya-Aida Sillah, a health management major from 成人直播, took a lead role in 鈥淢ask Up!,鈥 a Department of Public Health Sciences group project designed to help students understand COVID-19 and health protection. Answers revealed four areas commonly misunderstood. 鈥 Some students did not know that fleece and gaiter-style masks are not recommended for preventing the spread of COVID-19. 鈥 Some students assumed a person鈥檚 vulnerability to COVID-19 would be visible. In many cases, a person鈥檚 vulnerability to the virus may be hidden. 鈥 Some students were unaware that nausea and vomiting are potential symptoms. 鈥 Some students did not know that monitoring for fever and other symptoms daily is recommended.

Nov. 5, 2020 -- BAASE started in 2018, and the partnership between 成人直播 Public Schools and 成人直播 State began in fall 2019 with the goal of creating a stronger system of support for African American and Hispanic students who want to pursue post-secondary education.

Nov. 5, 2020 鈥 A team of researchers at 成人直播 State University is working to promote health equity among vulnerable populations. The all-woman, cross-disciplinary team is focusing its initial efforts on issues related to obesity among underrepresented groups.

Jessica Gulaskey

Nov. 3, 2020 鈥 Jessica Gulaskey is one of thousands of first-generation students at 成人直播 State. The 成人直播 native will be taking over the university鈥檚 Instagram account on Thursday, Nov. 5, to share her experiences as a first-gen student.

Oct. 30. 2020 鈥 A team of interdisciplinary researchers at 成人直播 State University is using artificial intelligence and big data to digitally transform the way communities predict and respond to natural disasters.

Inneke Vargas

Inneke Vargas, from Houston, appreciates the interdisciplinary approach of her liberal arts degree from 成人直播 State University. After graduate school, she wants to work on policy changes to help eliminate health disparities. 鈥淢y research broadly focuses on the effects of mental health stigma, particularly among African Americans, across the lifespan,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淢ore narrowly, I am currently interested in the ways mental health care inequities disproportionately affect minority men during adolescence and very late adulthood.鈥

Carryl Baldwin

Oct. 22, 2020 鈥 Carryl Baldwin, 成人直播 State鈥檚 Carl and Rozina Cassat Distinguished Professor of Aging, received the 2020 Woman of the Year Award, presented by the Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) Society, Human Factors and Ergonomics Women鈥檚 Organization for Mentorship and Networking.

Oct. 22, 2020 -- 成人直播 State University is now offering voluntary asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for employees.

Molecular Diagnostics Lab

Oct. 19, 2020 鈥 成人直播 and southcentral Kansas' only high-volume test lab opened at 成人直播 State University. The Molecular Diagnostics Lab can test up to 4,500 tests per day at its full capacity.
