Oct. 30. 2020 鈥 A team of interdisciplinary researchers at 成人直播 State University is using artificial intelligence and big data to digitally transform the way communities predict and respond to natural disasters.

Oct. 28, 2020 -- There are several artists with 成人直播 State University connections involved in the public art projects in and around the Riverfront Stadium, home of the 成人直播 Wind Surge minor-league professional team. Several of the public art projects are visible outside the stadium and more are scheduled for installation in the coming months. All of the artists are local or regional.

Inneke Vargas, from Houston, appreciates the interdisciplinary approach of her liberal arts degree from 成人直播 State University. After graduate school, she wants to work on policy changes to help eliminate health disparities. 鈥淢y research broadly focuses on the effects of mental health stigma, particularly among African Americans, across the lifespan,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淢ore narrowly, I am currently interested in the ways mental health care inequities disproportionately affect minority men during adolescence and very late adulthood.鈥

Sept. 21, 2020 鈥 A panelist of performing artists, moderated by Rodney Miller, dean of the College of Fine Arts, will discuss the disproportionate effect of COVID-19 on the events industry at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Emily Christensen

Sept. 18, 2020 - In July, Emily Christensen spent five days on Zoom participating in the National Critics Institute, a program of the Eugene O鈥橬eill Theater Center in Waterford, Conn. Christensen, coordinator of external affairs for 成人直播 State University鈥檚 School of Art, Design and Creative Industries, wrote about food, plays, movies and dance. She, and 16 others in her group, listened to and received critiques from people such as such as Chicago Tribune theater critic Chris Jones, who directs the program, and Helen Shaw of New York Magazine.

Rani Somers

August 27, 2020 - Rani Somers, coordinator for fraternity and sorority life at 成人直播 State University, was named The Guan铆n* Leadership Award Winner on behalf of the Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority, Latinas Poderosas Unidas, Inc. Somers earned the honor for her work guiding Lambda Pi Upsilon to chapter recognition in July. This is the first time in its history that this award has been presented to someone outside of the sorority.

Aug. 10, 2020 鈥 Dr. Cory Gibson, superintendent of the Valley Center School District and graduate of 成人直播 State University, has been named the Kansas Superintendent of the Year for 2019-20.

July 23, 2020 鈥 The Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, which receives funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, recently awarded 成人直播 State $250,000 to assist in creating a workforce development database focused on compiling a map of educational programs and resources that provide skills required for today鈥檚 advanced robotics and manufacturing careers.

July 22, 2020 - The 成人直播 State University College of Engineering sponsors GoBabyGo, an interdisciplinary program that modifies toy cars for use by children with disabilities. The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the semester and several students returned over the past month to help finish and deliver the six cars.
