2023 Wallace Scholarship winners

Feb. 24, 2023 鈥 成人直播 State University鈥檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program.

Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥 and 成人直播 native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of 成人直播 students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥 featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.

Feb. 24, 2023 - Libero Lara Uyar, a native of Turkey, discusses the current crisis in her country caused by an earthquake near the border with Syria. We learn how she is handling the emotions of being far away from family and friends during the difficult time and how her teammates offer support. We also talk about sports in Turkey, her adjustment to the United States and spring volleyball practices at 成人直播 State.

2023 Koch Scholarship winners

Feb. 23, 2023 鈥 Seven high school students from Kansas and Oklahoma have been awarded $30,000 to $45,000 each as the newest recipients of the Koch Scholarship at 成人直播 State University.

Feb. 22, 2023 鈥 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 成人直播 State University has awarded Isabella (Bella) Kilman, a Valley Center High School senior, the 2023 Clay Barton Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Feb. 22, 2023 鈥 Braeburn Square on 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Innovation Campus is transforming the dining and shopping scene in 成人直播. With four new tenants 鈥 Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen, Jersey Mike鈥檚, Two Hands Corn Dogs and Pedego 成人直播 鈥 the shopping center is fully occupied and fast becoming a hub for all 成人直播ns to gather, feast and shop.

Feb. 8, 2023 鈥 Every year, there are roughly 450,000 burn wounds that require clinical care throughout the United States. Of those, more than 3,500 people are fatally injured. An interdisciplinary team of 成人直播 State University researchers is working to revolutionize burn-wound care with a scaffolding system that prevents infection and promotes healing.

Feb. 7, 2023 鈥 In the nation鈥檚 ongoing efforts to thwart cyberattacks and scammers, the National Science Foundation has awarded 成人直播 State University more than $2.4 million to educate and prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

Feb. 6, 2023 - Caroline Tallent started her quest to play college softball with a narrow search. She prioritized her interest in engineering before athletics. 成人直播 State fits the select number of schools with strong engineering and strong softball. Tallent knew about the school because of basketball, liked the Shocker mascot, and emailed coach Kristi Bredbenner.

Feb. 6, 2023 鈥 Leanne Caret 鈥 a 成人直播 State University alumna, former executive president of Boeing, and former president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) 鈥 is serving as the Sam Bloomfield Distinguished Engineer in Residence for the College of Engineering at WSU for 2023.

Feb. 6, 2023 鈥 The 成人直播 State University College of Engineering is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school girls from 成人直播 Public Schools. The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Jan. 27, 2023 鈥 成人直播 State University has selected the 2023 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 成人直播 State University in August 2023.
