Dr. Crystal Dozier

Nov. 8, 2021 鈥 Archaeology fieldwork can be arduous and painstaking, but it鈥檚 a vital part of preserving the heritage and history of indigenous people. 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Dr. Crystal Dozier recently led a team of students in a cultural resource management project for the city of 成人直播, ensuring that modern infrastructure wouldn鈥檛 destroy or damage ancient artifacts.

Nov. 4, 2021 鈥 Reaching for the stars and beyond, a CubeSat Mission Patch contest sponsored by 成人直播 State University and the Ad Astra Foundation aims to highlight WSU鈥檚 science and research programs to prospective students.

Nov. 1, 2021 - Helped by six grants from Kansas Leadership Center, 成人直播 State University鈥檚 HEALTH Student Association is working to end the pandemic and support students with information and resources to keep them healthy. HEALTH distributed more than 6,000 free and reusable masks, some with 鈥淪hockers United鈥 branding, some plain black and sequined masks for the inauguration of president Rick Muma. It assembled gift boxes for quarantining students with information on COVID-19 vaccines and testing and gifts such as 成人直播 State water bottles, stickers and lanyards.

Oct. 29, 2021 - The American Athletic Conference is investing in big cities and the state of Texas with its addition of six new members recently. The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Florida Atlantic University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Texas, Rice University and University of Texas at San Antonio had their applications for membership approved last week.

Louisa Brunt

Oct. 11, 2021 - Louisa Brunt, from Manchester, England, transferred to 成人直播 State from Texas Tech University to golf and to earn her master鈥檚 degree in criminal justice. Brunt graduated from Texas Tech, where she earned Academic All-Big 12 honors three times, with a major in criminology and a minor in forensic science. Brunt expects her career path to take her into police work or the FBI.

COVID-19 vaccination

Oct. 3, 2021 鈥 成人直播 State is partnering with Gov. Laura Kelly and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in an initiative to increase COVID-19 vaccinations to underrepresented communities across Kansas.

JW Webster

Oct. 1, 2021 鈥 Before he could even walk, JW Webster could do something only a handful of other people in the world could do: speak the Cherokee language. Today Webster is one of only 1,200 people who can fluently read, write and speak the indigenous language 鈥 which is ranked as one of the most difficult languages to learn. In August, Webster鈥檚 sacred knowledge became part of 成人直播 State University鈥檚 applied linguistics program through a new class, Elementary Cherokee I (LING 590).

Sept. 27, 2021 鈥 成人直播 State University has been chosen to host the 2023 Science Olympiad National Tournament, bringing national STEM notoriety to the university and up to 7,000 visitors and tourists to 成人直播.

Sept. 24, 2021 鈥 成人直播 State University鈥檚 Hughes Metropolitan Complex has switched to drive-thru testing 鈥 a move that will allow the 成人直播 community to spend less time in line and get test results faster. The Metroplex Testing Site (5015 East 29th St. North) is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Results of the PCR test are available within 24-36 hours after testing. No appointment is needed.

Sept. 23, 2021 鈥 The show must go on, and thanks to 成人直播 State鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab, Music Theatre 成人直播 has been able to keep its doors open to audiences.

Oct. 16, 2021 - Later this fall, pickleball becomes permanent on campus at the Heskett Center鈥檚 Outdoor Sports Complex. 聽When it became necessary to resurface six tennis courts, John Lee, director of Campus Recreation, decided to do something different. The complex will feature four pickleball courts, two courts for tennis and two existing courts for half-court basketball and one for futsal.聽
